Amy Poehler is reteaming with Ike Barinholtz for an untitled basketball comedy just picked up by Universal.
Poehler will star and produce the comedy via her Paper Kite Productions banner. Poehler will play a once
promising basketball coach who is asked to lead an NBA team under the gaze of a reluctant organization
and the pressure of being "the first." Barinholtz will also take a role in film.
Poehler and Barinholtz first teamed up for Sisters, the upcoming Universal comedy in which Barinholtz plays
the comedienne’s love interest. Poehler is coming off of Inside Out, Pixar’s acclaimed hit in which she voices
the character Joy. This fall, she will shoot the New Line comedy The House opposite Will Ferrell. Her Paper
Kites banner produces the Comedy Central hit Broad City and NBC’s Welcome to Sweden.
